Collection: Justin Howes

Justin Howes (1963-2005) British historian of typography. He was curator of the Type Museum of London and studied the legacy of William Caslon and Edward Johnston. His book Johnson's Underground Type remains the definitive work on the subject. The St Bride Foundation holds an annual lecture on the history of typography in Howes's memory. His re-creation of ITC Founders Caslon (1998) is one of the favourites used by Rambler Press.
