Jan Nepomucen Potocki (born March 8, 1761, died December 23, 1815) – Polish novelist and playwright (writing in French), traveler, politician, historian, publicist, ethnographer, one of the first Polish archaeologists, researcher of Slavic antiquities, engineer, first Polish areonaut. Author of the famous "Manuscript Found in Saragossa" and "Journey to Turek and Egypt".
