George Gordon Noel Byron, 6th Baron Byron, also known as Lord Byron (born January 22, 1788 in London, died April 19, 1824 in Missolonghi ), one of the greatest English poets and playwrights. His life was full of moral scandals, travels around Europe, love conquests and equally numerous literary friendships. As a politician (he was a member of the House of Lords) he dealt with the issue of the Luddite movement or the issue of the Elgin Marbles (ancient Parthenon Marbles, taken from Athens to London by Lord Elgin. He died among the Greek rebels, on whose side he fought against the Turks.
