Aleksander Fredro (born June 20, 1793 in Surochów near Jarosław, died July 15, 1876 in Lviv) – the most outstanding comedy writer in the history of Polish literature. But also an outstanding memoirist, poet, landowner and Polish officer during the Napoleonic Wars.
