Collection: William Wordsworth

William Wordsworth (7 April 1770 – 23 April 1850) English Romantic poet. In 1793 his debut, a collection of poems, was published An Evening Walk and Descriptive Sketches . Two years later, Wordsworth met Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Their joint work Lyrical Ballads, published in 1798, marks the beginning of English Romanticism. The poet's magnum opus is considered to be The Prelude , a semi-autobiographical poem that was revised and expanded many times. It was finally published in 1850, after Wordsworth's death.
