The first Rambler Press ephemera. Readers can find it in the books they have ordered. This is our favorite poem by Konstantinos Kavafis, "The Byzantine Magnificent, the Exile, the Poem-Writer" (Βυζαντινός Άρχων, εξόριστος, στιχουργών) from 1921. Printed on Fabriano Tiepolo paper, the Greek text is set in GFS Porson. This is an electronic version of Greek fonts cut by Richard Austin around 1806 and cast by the Caslon Foundry for Cambridge University Press. It was based on the handwriting of the eminent British classicist, Richard Porson (1759-1808), and was widely used in Greek texts from 1809.
