About Peace. About War

The book deals with peace and war. Its purpose and meaning is to recognize (once again) and describe both of the titular states – to refresh the forgotten concept of “peace”, to clear the semantic ballast of the concept of “war”. The considerations, inquiries and analyses are first subordinated to answers to fundamental questions – what is (modern) peace and what is (modern) war – and then to consider and weigh the chances of maintaining (relatively) lasting peace, to determine the probability of the outbreak of major armed conflicts in the future. The structure of the study is subordinated to this purpose, its general division into three parts: the first – about peace; the second – about war; the third – about the future (for) wars, about the future (for) peace.
In this study I consciously limit my considerations and inquiries to the peace-war dichotomy, although they could undoubtedly be much richer if intermediate states – crises – were mentioned.
The book is intended to be a popular science publication. Therefore, there is no need to explain in the introduction what constitutes the scientific workshop and the substantive layer of the work. The work does not clearly find its place in any of the scientific disciplines - it is interdisciplinary. Interdisciplinarity here means - not necessarily proportionate - the presence of the science of international relations, polemology and the art of war.
